#tmhants Recorded Video

Thank you to everyone who attended or presented at Teachmeet this evening. It went quite well I think and the digital leaders were fantastic! We had around 15 people watching online too which is nice to hear.

Thanks to Agile ICT, Lapsafe and Zondle for helping with sponsorship too!

To watch the recording, click here - In the next few days I will highlight key times when people speak so that it is easier to find presentations. For now, I’m tired so I need to sleep!

#tmhants Video Presentations

There were a number of (fantastic) people who helped us out with video presentations and I thought it would be best to share these with you online.

Bev Evans shared some of her wonderful clipart design videos. Watch them and you’ll soon be drawing amazing faces or flowers!

Jen Deyenberg talked about using Geocaching in education, Danny Nicholson shared different ways to ‘write-up’ your findings and Mark Clarkson gave some additional ways of using Google Sketchup.

A huge thank you to these people who have provided videos. The live presentations will be shared later on.

2 Fun Things to Pass the Time #tmnm11

For my two minute presentation I showed two silly websites that are great fun and provide a wealth of opportunity. One is the amazing Isle of Tune, which I blogged about here and that lets you compose tunes based on the car driving around the circuit. Bonkers, but fun.

The other is the Avatar Comparison Tool (again I’ve blogged this before over here) and this is a great tool from John Mclear (@johnmclear) and it can be used to create characters that can be used as online avatars. I talked about building your wild self and playing around with story characters, settings and habitats too.

I hope you enjoy these free resources.

Some things to do with images #TMNM11

For my presentation at Teachmeet New Milton, I talked about the use of digital images within school. We take loads of photos and I wanted to get my children to play around with them and make them a bit more…fun. So I used the Interesting Ways presentation to find some free photo-editing tools. Most of them are one-trick ponies and will only make one thing e.g. a wanted poster, but they all have the benefit of no downloads and better yet, no logins. So you can use them in a lesson without giving out usernames.

The links I shared are all compiled on the 3x3links page below.

I must say many thanks to my digital leaders who helped make the images for me in their lunch break!

TeachMeet @ Priory

We’re sure that visitors to this site know what a TeachMeet is, if not, explore the links above.  The exciting news is that there will be a TeachMeet Hants this term!

If you’d like to come along or talk, see below.

The main thing is to come along to tell a story about learning adventures! This could just be by listening to those doing the talking, or chatting to the others that turn up.

It would be great to see new (and old!) faces. There’s no need to talk about technology, you could just tell a story about how you’ve used your school grounds, a new group activity, something slightly naughty even…

The details that you need:

When and Where?

Priory School Specialist Sports College,

Fawcett Road, Southsea, Portsmouth, PO4 0DL.

Wednesday 13th July

5pm to 7pm.

If you’d like to come along, whether it’s to listen or talk, there’s a Google Form for you to fill out. Sign up closes on the 1st July so that we can get out heads around the exact venue etc!

All tweets etc about the get together should use the hashtag #tmhants
